A. Leigh Corbett

Founder of Midnight-Thirty Muse

A. Leigh or "Aylee" Corbett's prolificity has become more apparent with the continuation of her writing career. After struggling with illiteracy until ten, Corbett not only taught herself to read, but has written and published over six-hundred fifty poems between seven books. She released her first book at just eighteen years old; at twenty-four, she now has a total of eight published books, including a memoir.

As a creative catalyst, Alexa Leigh enjoys collaborating with individuals of various talents on diverse projects. Corbett has successfully participated in a multitude of creative consulting projects beyond what many might initially anticipate as being her "range of skill," but she always likes a good challenge.

Corbett photographed her first, third, fourth, seventh, and eighth book covers without assistance, but sought out friend and photographer Reyes Martinez of Martinez Pacific Photography to do the fifth and sixth. For her upcoming novel "The Lovers Tree," Corbett worked with yet another alumni of JSerra, Daniel Razzano, to design the cover; Razzano graduated with the Class of 2012 and now attends USC school of Art and Design as an undergraduate.

After transferring to Chapman University in Fall 2013 to continue her undergraduate education, Alexa Leigh Corbett’s watercolor painting "Stained Glass" was featured as the cover of "Calliope: Art & Literary Magazine" at Chapman University for the Fall 2013 Edition. Additionally, Corbett's artwork went on display in an exhibition showcasing select watercolors in a personal gallery hosted by Chapman's Leatherby Library in January 2014; the gallery "Palette of Perception" remained on display for over three months. Additionally, Corbett wrote a feature titled "Sanctuary of Words" for "Chapman Magazine" Summer 2014 edition, which was released in August 2014. In December 2014, Corbett released her seventh book containing 220+ poems as well as her memoir, "Wisdom 23." Corbett looks to graduate from Chapman University spring 2014 with a BFA in Creative Writing and a minor in Applied Psychology.
